Sides

There are currently two sides (red and blue). Those names are not definitive and may be changed if someone comes up with more imaginative names.
The purpose of sides is to create more competition in SERS. The sides will compete against eachother in special side challenges that will appear on the side from time to time. The individual challenges do still exist and are used to gain rank within the side.

The side member that has collected the most points in individual challenges is automatically appointed 'Side Leader'. This status grants full administrator permissions on his side.

Ranks

Ranks are calculated every night at 0:00 CET. The member that has the most points in his side will be given the highest rank available for his side and gets the 'Side Leader' status. The highest rank does not necessarily have to be General, that rank can only be reached if there are enough members in the side. The rest of the ranks are divided as shown below:

  • General 1%

  • Colonel 2%

  • Major 5%

  • Captain 8%

  • Lieutenant 10%

  • Sergeant 15%

  • Corporal 20%

  • Soldier (rest (39%))

So the 1% users with the highest number of points will become Generals, the highest 2% after them Colonels, etc.

Recruits are not promoted. They will first have to complete a set of basic training exercises before they can reach higher ranks.

I'm above member X in the Hall of Fame but he has a higher rank. Is this a bug?

No it isn't. The Hall of Fame is updated instantly when you complete a mission, the ranks are calculated once a day. Also remember that ranks are calculated within sides so someone from the other side can have a higher rank with less points.

What happens if two members have the same score?

The member who completed his missions first will get the higher rank.
